Description from the seller
Vario Anastigmat plate- and bellows camera – ca. 1912–1929
Antique plate- and bellows camera with a Vario Anastigmat lens, manufactured in the period 1912–1929. This camera is a representative example of early 20th-century photography and, given its age, is in good condition.
The camera is made of wood with metal fittings and an extendable bellows. The Vario Anastigmat lens is known for its improved sharpness and image correction compared to older anastigmatic lenses. The bellows appear intact and smooth, with no obvious cracks. The shutter and mechanical parts move as expected for a camera of this age (not professionally tested for light-tightness or accurate timing).
including
- Vario Anastigmat 1:6.3 135mm plate- and bellows camera
- Original carrying bag
- 2 plate holders
The camera is suitable for collectors, museum displays, decorative use, or for enthusiasts who want to work with historical photographic processes. The set is complete and therefore especially interesting within the field of collecting antique cameras.
Condition
Good condition with normal signs of use and aging. See photos for an accurate impression; these are part of the description.
