Cookie jar - Spelter

Elegant antique sugar bowl dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century, consisting of a finely cut twisted glass, mounted in a richly worked silvered metal frame.
The mount features beautiful classical decorative motifs (scrolls and foliage), typical of the Napoleonic III / Belle Époque era. The lid is topped with a matching decorative knob, and the whole sits on an ornate pedestal.
The glass is thick, well-cut, with a nicely spiraled pattern that catches the light.
Good overall condition considering its age.
There is a patina of wear and traces of age on the metal, with no dents or cracks visible on the glass.
An object that has not been cleaned aggressively in order to preserve its authenticity.
