Description from the seller
Bought en primeur
First owner, never moved
Perfect conditions
This small (8 hectare) property is situated at the edge of the plateau of Pomerol behind Clos L'Eglise. It shot to fame following a 100 point Parker rating in 1989 and then repeated this feat 20 years later. The wines here are serious, dense and powerful. 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, with all the Cabernet Franc now removed from the vineyard.
The nose signals a superbly pretty, fruit-driven wine with lovely freshness and drive. The oak is present but it sits within the fruit as opposed to on top and this is a wine which has already found harmony. The palate is rich and creamy and it is not heavy or strong but smooth and slippery. The tannins sit right at the back of the wine and they are crisp and talcy as opposed to being dry. Exotic and rather showy and bit of a crowd-pleaser in every respect, this is a thoroughly delicious wine.
Extra charges and ancillary fees (for import shipments) may be applied if the shipment to countries oustide the EU.
