Antique lacquered wooden graphoscope – Late 19th century

Rare and elegant antique graphoscope, dating from the late 19th century.
This optical instrument was used to view photographs, engravings, or stereoscopic views, thanks to a front-lens system and an internal support for the images.

The graphoscope is made of black lacquered wood, adorned with floral motifs on the front. It is equipped with an oval glass lens mounted on the front, as well as an interior compartment with a light wood support, allowing the images to be kept at the appropriate focal distance.
