The sculptural form is defined by sharply folded geometric planes and an asymmetrical stepped relief running along one side of the body. The architectural character, combined with the substantial mass of the piece, is characteristic of European Brutalist lighting from the 1970s and the early 1980s. The lamp base is manufactured from thick-gauge solid brass and fitted with a heavy-duty lamp holder and brass stem. Its considerable weight and robust construction indicate a piece originally intended as high-quality interior lighting rather than decorative mass production. Comparable Brutalist table lamps from this period were often paired with large fabric shades, emphasizing the sculptural quality of the base. Dating Circa 1970s–early 1980s.
