Description from the seller
Luxury Set of 4 French Silver-Plated Wine Bottle Holders – Grape Motif – Hammered – mid 20th Century
A highly refined and impressive set of four French wine bottle holders, crafted in heavy silver-plated metal and decorated with elegant grape clusters and vine leaves, a timeless symbol of French wine culture.
Each holder is hammered (martelé), giving the surface a lively texture and clearly demonstrating high-quality craftsmanship. The sculptural, flowing form securely supports a wine bottle while presenting it in an elegant, almost architectural way.
The pieces are stamped with a French silversmith’s mark, although the exact maker has not been conclusively identified. Based on the style, quality and construction, the set can confidently be attributed to France, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
These holders were likely intended for luxury dining tables, wine cellars or fine restaurants, and remain both functional and highly decorative today.
Origin: France
Period: circa 1900–1935
Material: Silver-plated metal
Decoration: Grape vines and clusters
Condition: Very good vintage condition, with light surface wear consistent with age and use
Dimensions (each):
Height: approx. 20 cm
Width: approx. 10 cm
