Kantcho Kanev's Untitled is an abstract mixed-media work of 18 x 18 cm, hand-signed, an original edition from 2010–2020, originating from Bulgaria and sold by Galerie in good condition.
Description from the seller
This painting is by the Bulgarian artist Kantcho Kanev (1957). The work is finished with a transparent plastic layer, which creates a special and depth-enhancing visual effect. Kanev, born in Obretenik (Bulgaria), has lived and worked in The Hague since 1991 and is known for his expressive and colorful paintings.
His style is characterized by a dynamic, abstract approach to reality, in which vibrant colors are combined with bold shapes and lines. This gives his work an energetic and emotional charge. By using abstract elements, Kanev creates depth and movement, with both figurative and abstract influences being recognizable. His use of color and symbols draws the viewer directly into his world: a fusion of his homeland Bulgaria and modern life in Western Europe.
Since his first exhibition in 1992 in The Hague, his fame has grown rapidly and his work is valued internationally. His paintings are included in museums and galleries in Bulgaria, Germany, the Netherlands, and Japan, and form part of private collections worldwide, including in Canada, the United States, and various European countries. Kanev has received multiple awards, including the prestigious Tokyo Mini-Print Triennale Prize in 1995 and an International Prize at the International Biennale in Romania in 1997. Each work invites the viewer to make their own interpretation of the shapes and colors he presents.
Dimensions: 18 x 18 cm
The work is available for viewing at our gallery. Furthermore, Art Dumay has a framing shop (celebrating their 85th anniversary this year) and a restoration studio. If you wish to make use of these services, we would be happy to hear from you.
