Description from the seller
The original softcover cover was professionally and artistically replaced by a bookbinder with a hardcover. Lovingly restored and in excellent condition!
The Matterhorn. Guido Rey. Foreword by Edmondo de Amicis. Geological explanations by Vittorio Novarese. German translation by Otto Hauser (Il Monte Cervino). Drawings by Edoardo Rubino.
258 pp., 35 ill. (of which 14 are color-toned, mounted on cardboard with a labeled cover) partly after drawings by Edoardo Rubino, partly after photographs by Vittorio Sella.
The present publication is the standard work on the early history of the Matterhorn. Guido Rey himself was successful in his long pursuit with the first ascent of the Matterhorn’s Furggengrat ridge (1899, with the aid of a rope ladder).
The work is beautifully illustrated with photographs of the Matterhorn and drawings by Edoardo Rubino.
