Buchara-Design – hand-knotted Oriental rug

This handwoven Oriental rug is crafted in the classic Bukhara design, characterized by its strictly rhythmic ornamentation and clear geometric order. The deep red field is completely covered with regularly arranged, octagonal Gul motifs — the characteristic hallmark of the Bukhara tradition. The even regularity creates a calm, cohesive overall impression with a strong graphic presence.

The Gül motifs are rendered in cream and dark accent tones and stand out clearly against the red ground. Between the main motifs, smaller, symmetrically placed filler ornaments provide structure and depth without overloading the clean appearance. The rug thus appears balanced, traditional, and timeless.

The surrounding border consists of several narrow decorative stripes with finely crafted geometric patterns. It creates a strong contrast with the field and clearly frames the central pattern—typical for Bukharan carpets from Pakistan. The dark border colors emphasize the depth of the red field and reinforce the classical effect.
