This exceptional set of a Japanese emperor and empress created by the Lladro artisans of Spain is a rare contemporary rendition of a traditional Japanese theme. The majesty of the royal couple can be seen in the elaborate costumes with colorful details they are wearing as well as their imperial gaze. Each sculpture is stunning alone, but together, the two sculptures make a dramatic display, either as part of a Japanese tableau, or as an eye-catching decorative centerpiece. The two-piece set includes two polished wooden display bases with each sculpture separately packaged in abundant protective fitted styrofoam packing. The set is in excellent condition, having never been used or displayed. Pieces will not be sold individually. Due to their size and weight, the emperor and empress must be shipped in separate boxes.
