Walking stick - .925 silver - London 1924

Antique English Hallmarked Silver Mounted Walking Cane – London 1924 – Art Deco Gentleman’s Dress Cane A classic English gentleman’s walking cane, fully hallmarked for London and dated 1924, representing the clean and understated elegance of the early Art Deco period. Antique English Hallmarked Silver Mounted Walking Cane – London 1924 – Art Deco Gentleman’s Dress Cane The cane is fitted with a solid sterling silver knob handle of traditional mushroom form. The mount bears clear British hallmarks confirming London assay and date letter for 1924. The shaft is finished in black lacquered (ebonised) wood, creating a formal contrast with the silver top – a typical city or dress cane style carried with business or evening attire during the early 20th century. This example shows significant and honest signs of age and long use. The silver handle displays numerous small dents, scratches, surface wear and a small split in place. The lacquered shaft has scuffs, losses and marks consistent with decades of handling. The ferrule also shows wear. The cane remains straight, solid and structurally sound. Untouched and unrestored, it retains its original character and authentic antique patina. A genuine period piece with strong historical presence rather than a pristine collector’s example.
