Description from the seller
Two-handled terracotta amphora vase, 'Mamma Ro’' brand, Lucca, 1960s–70s.
Stunning handcrafted vase-anfora made by the renowned Ceramiche Artistiche Mamma Ro’ workshop in Lucca. Entirely molded and painted by hand, it features a rich decoration in textured glazes that enhances its artistic character and strong visual presence.
The craftsmanship is typical of Mamma Ro’s historical production, with particular attention to details and shapes. On the bottom, the 'M' is engraved, a distinctive mark that attests to its authenticity.
The condition shows some small flaws in the enamel, which, however, contribute to giving it a lived-in charm and an authentically vintage flavor.
This piece perfectly represents Italian ceramic design from the 1960s–1970s and is ideal for both collectors and as a striking decorative item.
Mamma Ro’ was born in Lucca in 1967 as a family production by Pierallini, based on the ancient Etruscan technique of the 'Lucignolo.' Their creations, colorful, tactile, and with a strong personality, quickly became appreciated by European travelers. Since 1985, the brand has expanded with stores in Italy and abroad, always maintaining its artisanal identity.
