Original ORWO 20 NP black-and-white negatives, a large lot of about 110–120 frames preserved in 4 continuous strips dating from the mid‑20th century, showing everyday life and travel in Romania with family portraits, landscapes and village scenes, physically very good and tested and working.
Description from the seller
Large lot of original black-and-white photographic negatives on ORWO film, dating approximately from the mid-20th century (circa 1950s–1970s). The collection consists of approximately 110–120 frames, preserved in 4 continuous strips.
The images document everyday family life and travel in Romania, offering an authentic glimpse into rural and small-town environments of the period. Subjects include family portraits, children, outdoor activities, mountain landscapes, village architecture, agricultural scenes, and moments of leisure. Several sequences show the same people over time, creating a coherent visual narrative rather than a random assortment.
The negatives are well exposed and largely in good condition, with visible detail and contrast. They appear suitable for professional scanning or darkroom printing. No signs of major damage; minor age-related marks consistent with vintage material.
ORWO film stock, widely used in Central and Eastern Europe, adds historical and documentary value to the lot. The photographer is unknown, which is typical for vernacular photography collections of this type.
An appealing archive for collectors of vernacular photography, social history, ethnography, or mid-century European visual culture. Ideal for archival projects, exhibitions, publications, or creative reuse.
