Description from the seller
Antique walking cane - robust handle in 800-silver and ebony wood shaft, dating from 1888.
Length 92 cm
Handle 11 cm x 2.50 cm
Handle weight: 104 grams
Elegant city walking cane, featuring a classic and refined silhouette, perfect for collectors or as a distinctive, classy accessory.
Handle: curved model in a 'duckbill' or 'hook' design, made of 800 silver.
Hallmarking: Present and visible at the base of the handle. The mark includes the '800' figure, flanked by the German state punch (the Crown and the Crescent) and the silversmith's initials (WMN). This confirms the German origin of the silver, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.
Shaft (Stock): Made of fine black ebony wood, slender and light, typical of parade sticks or 'da passaggio' of the era.
On the handle there is a refined, hand-engraved monogram with the intertwined initials "AB", which adds a touch of history and uniqueness to the piece.
Weight: handle about 104 grams
Tip: Equipped with an original protective tip to preserve the integrity of the wood.
The cane is in excellent vintage condition. The silver features a natural patina of age that enhances its authenticity, with small signs of wear consistent with its age that do not detract from its aesthetics. The shaft is solid and the lacquer is well preserved.
Origin Certified: The German punches (Crescent and Crown) are a guarantee of international quality.
