Description from the seller
Superman vs. Hulk and Doctor Doom! Spider-Man vs. Wonder Woman!
Oversized size 25.5cm x 35.5cm
From my personal collection and in good condition!
Superman and Spider-Man is an intercompany comic that was jointly published in July 1981 by DC Comics and Marvel Comics. It is issue 28 (and the final part) in the Marvel Treasury Edition series and is a sequel to Superman vs. the Amazing Spider-Man from 1976.
This issue in treasury format was largely the work of Marvel, with approval from DC. Writer Jim Shooter. He chose Doctor Doom from Marvel and Parasite (an enemy of Superman) from DC. In the comic, Superman also faces the Hulk for the first time, and Spider-Man against Wonder Woman.
The book was officially written by Shooter and Marv Wolfman, who at that time was writing the popular DC title The New Teen Titans.
John Buscema drew the story and Joe Sinnott inked the main characters.
The backgrounds were inked by a selection of contemporary Marvel talents: Terry Austin, Klaus Janson, Bob Layton, Steve Leialoha, Bob McLeod, Al Milgrom, Josef Rubinstein, Walt Simonson, Brett Breeding, and Bob Wiacek.
The front was painted by Bob Larkin based on a design by John Romita Sr.
Other features of the book include the origin of Superman and Spider-Man on the inside front cover, an earlier concept for the cover on the inside back cover, and house advertisements for both Marvel and DC.
