Chinese metal ink box with poem, marked -China- Republic period On offer is an authentic old ink box probably made of bronze with an institution mark “Tong Gu Tang” on the bottom, and with calligraphy poem-text with artist mark. The box has a nice age related patina. The poem reads: “Bamboo is like a gentleman, humble and unyielding like a stone.” Also some text with: “Owned by brother Zi Wei”. Interesting and collectable ink box! Provenance: From inland China. Date: Republic period 1912-1949. Size: Measures 4,7 cm on all sides and 3 cm thick (height). Condition: Very good!
