Bowl - Porcelain - Guangxu period
Porcelain bowl from the Guangxu period (1875–1908), China, finely decorated in famille verte enamels with stylized bamboo, iron-red blossoms, and a poetic inscription in flowing black calligraphy. The verse, rendered in classical Chinese, reads:
“At midnight, moonlight touches the water’s edge,
A lone beam glows upon the one who has departed.
Though parted by a thousand miles, we share the same moon,
A quiet fragrance beneath the bamboo haunts the dreamer's soul.”
The interior features a central peach medallion symbolizing longevity. A six-character red seal mark on the base reads Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi ("Made in the Guangxu reign of the Great Qing").
Diameter approximately 16 cm; height 6 cm.
