Very good condition of the binding, volume in red half-leather binding illustrated for the edition, light wear marks, corners worn, beautiful gilded edges, spine with raised bands nicely decorated, title and author’s name gilded, superb motifs and gilded ornaments on the boards, black and gold fillets framing the boards.
Good interior condition, some foxing, pretty borders in the form of illustrations, charming initial letters, decorative tailpieces, the work enriched with fine engravings in black and chromolithographs outside the text, including maps, blue endpapers in good condition nicely illustrated with gold fleurs-de-lis.
