French slate table clock with gilt bronze details in the Napoleon III style, dating from circa 1850–1900 and made by Japy Frères, model Orologio antico pendola ebano, measuring 35 cm high, 20 cm wide and 18 cm deep (weight 11.4 kg) with a mechanical movement, 8-day power reserve, bell strike on the hours and half hours, winding key included and dial in white enamel with Roman numerals; in working order and with slight age-related marks.

French slate and gilded bronze mantel clock (table clock), 19th century.
Splendid Napoleon III–style table clock, made in fine glossy black slate. The architectural design, typical of the French school of the late 1800s, is distinguished by its sober elegance and strict lines.
Main features
Material: Solid black slate case with elegant gold floral and geometric engravings.
Dial: White enamel with black Roman numerals, protected by an original domed glass and a finely relief-worked brass bezel.
Movement: French "Parigina" movement (probably Japy Frères or similar), with anchor escapement and a bell strike that marks the hours and half-hours.
Striking: On a gong (blue-steel spiral) with harmonious chimes.
Suspension: Lamella suspension (typical of the more precise late 19th-century models).
Marks: Original numerical punch marks on the rear plate.
Dimensions: Height 35 x Width 20 x Depth 18 cm.
Weight: Very heavy at 11.4 kg, a typical feature of genuine antique slate.
