Description from the seller
I am auctioning this fascinating Yashica Minister rangefinder camera, a classic example of Japanese optical engineering dating back to the early sixties, precisely introduced around 1960. This model represents a piece of analog photography history, highly regarded for its solid build and the excellent quality of its fixed lenses.
The proposed specimen features a renowned Yashinon lens with a focal length of 45 mm and a maximum bright opening of f/2.8, composed of high-quality optical elements that guarantee sharpness and a highly sought-after vintage color rendering. The leaf shutter offers a range of shutter speeds typically from 1 second to 1/500 second, in addition to the B setting for long exposures, allowing the photographer great creative versatility in different lighting conditions.
A distinctive feature of this model is the presence of the integrated selenium exposure meter, recognizable by the typical honeycomb cell on the front, next to the viewfinder, which does not require batteries to operate, a detail that enhances its collectible charm and practicality of use over time. The coupled rangefinder focusing system allows precise distance adjustment, clearly visible through the viewfinder, making the shooting experience engaging and methodical.
Aesthetically, the camera presents itself in good overall condition as shown in the attached photographs, with the black faux-leather covering well preserved and the chrome-plated metal parts maintaining a good shine despite the years. Included is the original rigid leather carry case with a red velvet interior and the original Yashica-branded lens cap; accessories that perfectly complete the set for a collector.
