Description from the seller
Valve-powered turntable LESA Andessy AD-1 | 1960s - Two-tone design
Description:
Splendid portable suitcase phonograph "fonovaligia" Lesa Andessy Model AD-1, an icon of Italian industrial design from the early 1960s. This model is particularly sought after for its internal valve amplification, which offers the warm and deep sound typical of the era, superior to later transistor models.
Details of the specimen:
Aesthetics: A beautiful original two-tone combination (ice gray and central petrol-blue band).
Conditions: As visible in the photo, the camera body is in excellent preservation condition. The original cream-colored handle is intact and the metal parts (latches) retain their shine. The Rotating Plate: It presents itself in impeccable aesthetic condition, with the glossy cream finish and free of rust bloom or deep scratches. The dark radial inserts are intact, a sign of very careful use. Original Logos: The raised golden 'Andessy' logo and the engraved 'LESA' mark are perfectly preserved, keeping the piece’s collectible value intact.
Technical Specifications: It supports 4 speeds (16, 33, 45 and 78 RPM), also ideal for listening to old shellac records.
Production: Product manufactured in Milan by LESA, an exemplar of Made in Italy during the era of the economic miracle.
Why choose it:
It's not just a vinyl player, but a genuine piece of mid-century modern design. The rounded silhouette and the ribbed housing make it a perfect decorative item for vintage interiors or for discerning collectors seeking a well-preserved object.
