Because of his unconventional lifestyle, Anton Heyboer belonged to the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent lifestyle manifested itself in five marriages. After World War II he began drawing, albeit still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework on which his abstract artworks were based.
