Anton Heyboer, Vrouw, a work in mixed technique signed by hand, original edition from 1980–1990, framed 59 x 47 cm (unframed 41 x 30 cm), produced in the Netherlands in the Cobra style, sold with frame and offered by Galerie.
Description from the seller
Anton Heyboer – Ladies/Woman (mixed media)
An expressive work in which Heyboer uses free lines and layered materials to portray the female figure in a powerful, intuitive way. Not the detail, but emotion and symbolism are central, giving the work a strong, personal presence.
Anton Heyboer (1924–2005)
Because of his unconventional lifestyle, Anton Heyboer belonged to the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent lifestyle manifested itself in five marriages. He also described himself as 'the Robin Hood of the art world,' referring to his prolific output. Heyboer was trained as a mechanical engineer. After World War II he began drawing, albeit still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework on which his abstract artworks were based. Yet there are always figurative elements present in his paintings and etchings. Additionally, Heyboer clarified the themes of his work with texts, in which human relationships often play a role.
Dimensions of the artwork with frame: 59 x 47 cm
Dimensions of the artwork without the frame: 41 x 30 cm
Framed artwork.
Viewing is, of course, possible. Additionally, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore, we collaborate with restorers from the professional organization: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you wish to make use of this service, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
