Description from the seller
Set of antique English colonial-style nesting tables with copper tops.
Elegant set of four antique nesting tables, crafted in solid wood, attributed to the English colonial style from the late 19th to the early 20th century—a type of furniture conceived to combine functionality, durability, and a sober yet distinguished aesthetic.
The tables feature classic turned legs, connected by solid structural crosspieces, following common designs of English furniture intended for both metropolitan residences and colonial settings. The aprons incorporate discreet geometric motifs, imparting character without breaking the harmony of the ensemble.
The envelopes are copper-clad, fixed by visible rivets, a characteristic detail of British colonial furniture, where metal was used both for its durability and for its decorative value. The copper shows a natural and uniform patina, the product of aging, highly prized by collectors, which enhances the contrast with the warm tone of the wood.
The nest-of-tables format embodies a practical and versatile concept, allowing them to be used together or separately as side, occasional, or decorative tables, especially suitable for living rooms, libraries, or studies/offices with a classical English-inspired aesthetic.
Dimensions (width × depth × height):
– 61 × 37 × 49 cm
– 46 × 33 × 41 cm
– 33 × 29 × 33 cm
– 25 × 21 × 25 cm
Condition: good, with signs of use and patina appropriate to the age and character of the piece, not affecting its stability or functionality.
A striking ensemble with great presence, authenticity, and timeless elegance, representative of the English colonial style, ideal for collectors or classic interiors that value noble materials and pieces with history.
