Description from the seller
Danish side table with drawers – Rud. Rasmussen Snedkerier – circa 1950
Rare and refined Danish occasional table or writing desk, manufactured by Rud Rasmussen Snedkerier, one of Denmark's oldest and most prestigious furniture workshops, established in 1869 in Copenhagen.
The piece of furniture is equipped with a central turned column and three elegantly shaped legs. Under the top there are two drawers with original brass knobs, which makes the piece both functional and aesthetically appealing. The table bears the characteristic RR monogram, based on the anniversary logo designed in 1944 by Kaare Klint, who from the late 1920s closely collaborated with Rud Rasmussen.
This piece of furniture is a fine example of Danish functionalism, where craftsmanship, quality, and timeless design are central. An attractive collectible within the Scandinavian design tradition.
