Description from the seller
1965 Porsche 356 C Karmann Coupe - One of 1101 Produced
This matching-numbers 1965 Porsche 356 C Karmann Coupe features the factory 1.6-liter boxer engine and 4-speed manual transmission. The odometer reads 48,068 miles. A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity included in the sale confirms matching numbers for the chassis, engine, and transmission, along with an original black interior, Signal Red exterior, and factory chrome wheels. The sale includes extensive owner history, spanning the USA and Denmark. Additionally, invoices from Porsche Denmark totaling over 13,000 Euros between October 2019 and June 2021 are part of the documentation. The car has a current Danish title and registration.
This vehicle was professionally repainted in its original Signal Red color under prior ownership and presents very well. The panel gaps are uniform throughout the car and meet factory specifications. It has never been in an accident, and all body panels are original and in good condition, showing no signs of rust. The rubber seals, windows, chrome components, and lighting are all in good condition and function correctly.
Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition. It starts and drives smoothly, free of smoke or transmission noise. The engine, transmission, brakes, tires, suspension, belts, and clutch have been thoroughly inspected and serviced in preparation for auction, making it ready to be enjoyed as-is for many years to come. The vehicle has passed the Danish Technical Inspection (Syn/TUV/MOT) and will not require another inspection until October 2027.
The interior is original and in excellent condition, with no rips or tears in the seats, door panels, headliner, carpet, or dashboard. All instruments, gauges, and switches are in working order.
Known internally as the T6 and designed by Erwin Komenda, the Porsche 356 C was released for the 1964 model year. In typical Porsche fashion, external changes were minimal, but with the 356 C, Porsche finally introduced disc brakes on both the front and rear.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
