Keyboard “rompler”: the sounds are a mix of electronic sounds, leads, analog basses, and many kits—the same found on the previous rackmount XL-1.

KEYBOARD 61 velocity keys with aftertouch.
Main panel features a 2 × 24 LCD display, 5 knobs, 1 encoder, 38 push buttons and 2 wheels for modulation and pitch bend.

Voice
The ColdFire processor supports 64-voice polyphony. A basic patch is composed of 4 PCM tone samples.

Wavetable
A 32 MB wavetable contains 1100 PCM samples at 44 kHz, 16-bit resolution. Many PCM samples were recorded directly from vinyl-recorded samples, including dirty Rhodes sounds, noises, hip-hop and R&B material.

XK6 can be expanded with the 3 other SIMM ROMS

Filter
50 models of Z-plane filters inspired from the previous Emu Morpheus. First types are the classic ones including lowpass, highpass and bandpass and more sophisticated ones like swept octave EQ, phasers, flangers, vocal formant filters.

LFO
Two interchangeable modulators (0.08 Hz to 18.14 Hz), both can be assigned to an open matrix structure that manages various sources and modulation destinations. Typical destinations are: pitch, amplitude, or filter.

EG1: amplitude (1 for each layer)
EG2: filter (1 for each layer)

Performance
Global mode manages 16 parts, each with an arpeggiator. The note/octave range can be assigned, as well as velocity gate, latched, looped to specific bars, or assigned to 19 different tempo dividers.
