Description from the seller
Jacob Hull is a Danish designer of modernist jewelry. He worked as an artist and became famous in the early 1970s, when his work was exhibited internationally and could only be purchased at Illums Bolighus, the leading store for Danish design.
He was also a sculptor, and part of his work was accepted at the annual exhibition in Charlottenburg. He traveled to many countries and also lived in Finland. Eventually he settled on the Jutland Peninsula, Denmark, and died in Djursland in 1993, as a victim of a house fire.
There are two categories of Hull's jewelry. There are original unique pieces, which he made in solid silver at very high prices. The second category were the silver-plated jewelry that also bore his stamp. Everything was handmade in his own workshop. He made many extravagant large pieces adorned with semi-precious stones. Hull was very vigilant and ensured that all jewelry was marked before leaving the workshop.
This uniquely designed vintage teaspoon is by the Danish designer Jacob Hull, crafted in silver-plated metal and featuring a handmade enamel inlay in blue tones and green.
This spoon stands out for its elegant twisted handle and the abstract, almost painterly enamel disc, giving the object a sculptural and artistic character. The design clearly reflects the Scandinavian modernist style of the mid-20th century, in which functionality and artistry come together.
On the back side, the stamp 'HULL' is visible, referring to the designer.
Dimensions: L 13 cm x W 3 cm
