Jordi Rollan
He was born in Barcelona on January 28, 1940, and began his studies at the Colegio de San Miguel in Barcelona, where his interest in drawing began.
In 1954 he decides to devote himself to painting, leaving his business studies. He attends classes at the Escola d’Arts i Oficis Artístics La Llotja for five years, alternating them with occasional attendances at first at the Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona, which grants him in 1965 a scholarship that allows him to travel to France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy, visiting museums and producing a series of drawings of all the countries he has visited.
In 1966 she held her first solo exhibition at Sala Jaimes in Barcelona, whose theme is the female figure, which she would not abandon throughout her entire career, except for a three-year hiatus during which she devoted herself entirely to abstraction. In 1970 she participated in various group exhibitions in the United States and produced for an American editor a series of lithographs. Since 1978 she has produced for various commercial firms, labels for wines and cavas, restaurant menus, artistic posters, as well as all kinds of works always applicable to art. Since 1980 she has continued her artistic work, periodically exhibiting in Barcelona and the rest of Spain.
The most important exhibitions he has held abroad are: in 1977 at L’Atrium of the Monte Carlo Casino; at the Galleria San Marco in Rome; in 1981 at the 1st Exhibition of Catalan Painting in Montevideo (Uruguay); in 1986 at the Rodin Gallery in St. Louis (USA); in 1991 at the Delorme Gallery in Trouville (France); and since 1993 in various German cities, with a highlight in Madelburg, sponsored by the German company Schönebecker under the title Great Catalan Masters, Salvador Dalí and Jordi Rollán.
All of them were won by 1975, after which he stopped competing. 2nd Prize City of Sabadell, R.Cendrós Prize for Young Painting (Sala Parés), Rambla Painting Prize of Barcelona, Rodés Prize of the Royal Artistic Circle, 1st Prize for Painting of Mahón, 2nd Victoriano Seix Prize, 1st Prize Royal Artistic Circle Sant Lluc, Notes Pictóriques Prize, Barceló Prize for Young Painting (Sala Parés), Kreisler Prize for Small Format.
