Bronze sword or large dagger with an inlaid grip, about 39 cm in length, dating to the 12th–8th century BCE, of Middle Eastern culture, in good condition.
Description from the seller
The guard has an elaborate form. It was inlaid with a material, probably ivory or bone.
The blade has a lentiform cross-section. The residual patina is a mixture of green and brown. The edge of the blade shows signs of combat.
The overall length of this piece exceeds 39 cm.
Origin information: Belgium, M.A.T.
Earlier provenance history, former private archaeological collection of Hainaut.
The seller can prove that the lot was obtained legally, with a provenance declaration viewed by Catawiki.
