Description from the seller
Watercolor by Marietta Gianella-Berry, late 20th century
This watercolor, produced by Marietta Gianella-Berry at the end of the 20th century, reveals the delicacy characteristic of her work: a gentle brushstroke, a clean palette, and a very personal sensitivity toward nature and the small creatures that inhabit it. The composition, focused on a group of birds depicted with light and expressive gestures, conveys serenity and a certain lyricism that is typical of her painting.
The use of color —predominantly cool tones with very measured warm accents— reveals a confident hand and a gaze that seeks to capture the essence rather than the literal detail. The watercolor, by its technique and its atmosphere, belongs to that current of intimate painting which flourished in the second half of the twentieth century, where the spontaneity of the gesture and the transparency of the pigment were part of the emotional language of the work.
Marietta Gianella‑Berry (also known as Marietta Berry or Marietta Gianella) is an artist associated with naturalist illustration and contemporary watercolor. Her work typically centers on botanical motifs, birds, and scenes of nature treated with a poetic approach, closer to personal interpretation than to scientific documentation.
Their style is recognized by:
• Light and balanced compositions
• Refined use of color
• Topics related to nature and everyday life
• A stroke that combines precision and spontaneity
Certified shipping and good packaging.
