Description from the seller
These light (blonde) oak side tables are a beautiful addition to a Japandi, minimalist styled, or Danish-oriented interior. They can be conveniently stacked together to save space. They can also be grouped to serve as, for example, a coffee table.
Origin: Netherlands 1950 - 1970
52 - 46 - 46 cm height, 42 cm
39 - 39 - 39 cm height 34 cm
28 - 28 - 28 cm height 29 cm
Weight 13.5 kg
These tables are in demand because of their distinctive shape, since most side tables are square or rectangular; these tables are triangular. Timelessness and functionality: The design from the 60s/70s is functional and has a clean, minimalist aesthetic that was popular in the Mid Century Modern (MCM) period. The visible wood grain and the rugged finish emphasize the material's natural state. The natural state of the material underscores MCM, but Brutalism is also applicable here. 'Brutalism' in furniture refers to the emphasis on raw, unfinished materials and massive, sculptural forms. The use of solid oak contributes to a heavy and durable appearance. The simple, triangular shape and the thick legs emphasize the structure of the object itself, also characteristic of Brutalist designs.
The legs are made from a single piece of wood; they all show beautiful nuances in color and shape within the wood itself, and an extra nuance can be seen in the two layers that make up the top panel. The top panels consist of laminates or strips of wood, which is easy to see when you look at the top, bottom, and sides of the tables.
The top table features one longer length on the tabletop. The tables nest under each other, but can be arranged in many playful configurations. They are solid oak tables that can take a beating and have stood the test of time over the years. Vintage marks, a few deeper scratches and dents, some discoloration near the dents most visible on the largest table; the tables have been used. Very even set, normally there are circles of discoloration or water damage visible, which is not the case with this set.
The tables will be carefully packed and shipped insured.
