Four 18th‑century Delft blue on white tin-glazed earthenware wall tiles, each 13 × 13 cm and 0.7 cm thick, dating to 1750–1800, in good used condition with minor signs of age and staining.
Description from the seller
A beautiful and rare quartet of 18th-century Delft wall tiles, each with an exquisitely hand-painted scene in characteristic cobalt blue on white tin glaze. These tiles breathe the atmosphere of the Dutch landscape and daily life of the eighteenth century, with charming motifs such as a fisherman at the water's edge, rural architecture, and traditional buildings.
The tiles show a refined blend of dark and lighter blue, typical for authentic Delft production. The decorations are framed by subtle corner ornaments, giving the whole an elegant and balanced appearance. The light craquelure and signs of use contribute to the authenticity and historical charm of these objects.
This ensemble is especially suitable as a collectible, decorative wall piece, or a atmospheric addition to a historic interior. Through their coherence the four tiles form a harmonious whole, but they can also be presented separately.
The tiles are in antique condition with age-related signs corresponding to their age and use, including edge chips and wear. See photos for an accurate impression of the condition.
A characterful and authentic piece of Dutch ceramic history that will appeal to both collectors and antique enthusiasts.
