DELICATE DEFENCE
Exclusive Matted Edition by Inna Etuvgi
Image size: 20x30 cm | Total size with mat: 30x40 cm
“I am against aggression, but life happens... That’s why I believe each of us needs that very guardian angel — the one who comes in difficult times to deal with offenders and trample down barriers. And yes, this is an Angel, with wings and in white.” — Inna Etuvgi
Tenderness meets uncompromising strength in “Delicate Defence,” a contemporary reimagining of the guardian archetype. Etuvgi presents a "feminine dandy" angel, dressed in a tailored white suit, embodying a state of aesthetic stoicism. Here, elegance is not just a style, but an armour; poise is a weapon; and vulnerability is transformed into a quiet, formidable power.
This work continues the artist's exploration of modern protection, where the traditional celestial figure is updated with a sense of authority and readiness. It is a visual paradox designed for those who find beauty in equilibrium — the delicate balance between gentleness and the necessity of defense.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Inna Etuvgi is a Swedish-Chukchi artist whose work defines the concept of Cybernetic Animism—a bridge between indigenous Arctic intuition and technical precision. Raised in a remote village in Chukotka and trained in technical cybernetics, Etuvgi explores the shared "soul" of natural ecosystems and digital algorithms.
Internationally recognized as an Arte Laguna Prize finalist (Venice) and a recipient of the Swedish Arts Grants Committee grant, her work is held in private collections worldwide. As art critic Tabish Khan notes: “Her work transports us to other worlds—both real and imaginary, but always in harmony with nature.”
