Petri MF-2 + 1,8/50mm | Analogue camera

Up for auction, this interesting Petri MF-2, a 35mm SLR camera with manual focus produced around 1980. This model is historically significant because it was made by Cosina for the Petri brand after the latter had ceased independent production, representing a classic example of the “Cosina CT-1 rebadged” cameras, sturdy and functional bodies that shared the mechanics with brands such as Chinon, Ricoh, and Vivitar.

the MF-2 uses the universal M42 screw mount (often called the Pentax screw mount), which makes it compatible with a vast number of high-quality vintage lenses such as Takumar, Zeiss Jena, and Pentacon. it mounts an original Petri 50mm f/1.8 C.C. Auto, known for its good sharpness and effective anti-reflective coating (C.C. stands for color corrected). the shutter is electronic with a metal blade, offering speeds from 4 seconds to 1/1000 plus B, while exposure is assisted by a TTL system with an LED indicator in the viewfinder.


Aesthetically, the camera is in good condition for its age, with the black body showing minimal signs of use. It comes with its original Petri-branded lens cap.
