Anyone who has followed my Porsche-themed paintings knows they were hyperrealistic, with precise detail and a faithful reflection of reality.
This series of 'breakin the rules' that I have painted recently (2026) is a breath of fresh air, where colors, mixed media, reliefs and supports are the protagonists.
Sergio Rivera Martínez, a Madrid-based artist. It could be said that I have been painting since I was born.
Art has come into my life naturally; my grandparents and mother were artisans and artists who worked with wood, tapestries, ceramics, and, of course, painting.
All the memories I have are linked to painting… At home, at my grandparents’ house, birthday and Christmas gifts that were paint sets, while I was watching my favorite cartoons I would paint. I painted so much that even when I left the house I kept painting, and that’s how I began to experiment with graffiti in my early adolescence, up to today where I have become part of the graffiti history book of Majadahonda.
Nowadays I work on canvas with a meticulous realism in every detail or expression. I focus the motifs of my work mainly on nostalgia, retro aesthetics, or the classical.
