Victorian Chinoiserie sideboard, circa 1900, made of wood with brass fittings, hand‑lacquered black with gilded oriental scenes, three doors with blue interiors, dimensions 137 cm (L) × 41 cm (D) × 67 cm (H), origin United Kingdom, good vintage condition with minor signs of age and wear.
Description from the seller
This is a rare English 19th-century chinoiserie dresser in black-lacquered wood, lockable with a key.
Exceptional English Chinoiserie sideboard (circa 1870–1900), hand-lacquered black with gold-painted Oriental scenes (pagodas, ships, figures, birds). Three doors with blue interiors and shelves—the inner faces of the doors are also gold-painted with figures (woman with a fan and child, man with an umbrella), bamboo and mountains—on block feet with dovetail joints. Original H-model brass hinges with crown mark (English manufacture).
On the back there is a date 3-10-22 and the name H Brand; that is probably a copper in the 1920s.
Dimensions: 137 cm (L) x 41 cm (D) x 67 cm (H)
Condition: Good vintage condition, light wear (authentic).
Origin: Purchased in England.
