Kashmiri carpet, India – silk on cotton – ca. 1960–1970
We present an elegant Kashmiri rug from India, 100% handmade, crafted in natural silk on a cotton base, a classic combination reserved for high-quality pieces.
The rug features a refined floral design inspired by traditional Kashmiri motifs, with a light, balanced palette in ivory, olive green, black, and delicate reddish accents, imparting brightness and exceptional decorative elegance.
Kashmir silk, renowned for its softness, natural sheen, and fineness, offers a texture that is very pleasant to the touch and a precise definition of the pattern. The reverse confirms the handmade workmanship and the quality of the knotting.
Condition of preservation
Very good overall condition for its age. Clean, well cared for, with the original fringe preserved. It shows no tears or visible restorations.
