Hermès – Carré en soie « Les Armes de Paris » – Édition originale 1954

L’exemplaire proposé ici est une édition originale des années 1950 (période 1954–1959), et non une réédition moderne.

Carré Hermès en soie twill imprimée, modèle emblématique « Les Armes de Paris », dessiné par Hugo Grygkar et édité pour la première fois en 1954.

Ce carré s’inspire des armoiries historiques de la Ville de Paris et de sa devise latine Fluctuat nec mergitur (« Battue par les flots mais ne sombre pas »). Il s’inscrit dans la grande tradition des carrés Hermès d’après-guerre, période durant laquelle la maison développe des créations à forte valeur culturelle et patrimoniale, mêlant héritage français, art héraldique et excellence du dessin.

Il s’agit d’une édition ancienne des années 1950, identifiable à la signature « Hermès Paris » sans copyright, caractéristique des premières productions Hermès et antérieure aux rééditions ultérieures.

Très bon état vintage compte tenu de l’âge.
Présence d’une patine légère et homogène sur le fond clair, ainsi que d’une minuscule trace discrète.
Aucun trou, aucun accroc. Soie encore dense, impression bien conservée. Roulotté intact.

The piece offered here is an original 1950s edition (circa 1954–1959), not a modern reissue.

Printed silk twill Hermès scarf, iconic model “Les Armes de Paris”, designed by Hugo Grygkar and first issued in 1954.

This carré is inspired by the historic coat of arms of the City of Paris and its Latin motto Fluctuat nec mergitur (“Tossed by the waves but does not sink”). It belongs to the great tradition of post-war Hermès scarves, a period during which the House developed creations of strong cultural and heritage value, combining French legacy, heraldic art and excellence in illustration.

This is a vintage 1950s production, identifiable by the “Hermès Paris” signature without copyright, characteristic of early Hermès manufacturing and predating later reissues.

Ivory / ecru background.
Deep red and royal blue motifs.
Patinated gold details.
Color palette consistent with original 1950s Hermès editions.

Condition
Very good vintage condition considering its age.
Light and even patina on the pale background, with one very small discreet mark.
No holes, no snags. Dense silk, well-preserved print. Hand-rolled edges intact.
