Description from the seller
Toons (contemporary artist, France) created “LA VIE EN ROSE” (2026), an original mixed-media work, hand-painted and made on an authentic one-dollar bill. This piece is offered in a limited edition 1/25, signed by the artist, in excellent condition, in a pop art / street art style, exploring the themes of love, irony, urban expression, and the symbolic power of color.
Life in Pink
Edition: 1/25
Reference: PP-115-01-2026
Original work created entirely by hand in a mixed-media technique (acrylic and Posca marker) on an authentic 1-dollar US bill (USD).
La Vie en Rose reinterprets the universe of the Pink Panther, an iconic figure of elegance, detachment, and visual irony. Spray can in hand, the character adopts a posture that is both gentle and provocative, transforming the ticket into a space of free expression where the message becomes a trace, a gesture, and a statement.
By subverting currency — a symbol of value, authority and stability — Toons makes it a poetic and contemporary surface. Pink emerges as a sensitive response to the graphic rigor of the banknote, creating a subtle contrast between romance, humor, and a critical look at the very notion of value.
Between street-art aesthetics and a pop icon, the work plays with the tension between control and freedom. The inscription becomes a strong visual act, like a spontaneous signature that lends a human and emotional dimension to an object that is normally strict and codified.
An elegant, expressive, and decidedly contemporary interior, where the color pink asserts itself as a symbol of attitude, irony, and sensitivity.
