Karabakh: hand-knotted rugs originating from the extreme south of the Caucasus. They often feature geometric motifs, but also stylized floral motifs of Iranian inspiration where roses and flowers in the French style are widespread. These rugs often have a double row of knots between the warp threads. The cochineal red velvet is common.
