Antique brass carbide lamp "Moto-Jupiter" from France, dating to circa 1900–1915, with a solid brass body and original patina, broken front glass, and the top water screw intact, designed for early motorcycles and light cars.

Antique brass carbide lamp "Moto-Jupiter" - For an early motorcycle - France - ca. 1910
Description: Beautiful authentic example of a French carbide lamp (acetylene lamp) of the coveted model "Moto-Jupiter". These lanterns were mounted at the beginning of the 20th century (Pioneer era) on the first motorcycles and light cars.
The lamp is made of heavy brass and bears the inscription: "Moto-Jupiter" BTÉ S.G.D.G. (Breveté Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement). The lamp has a splendid original patina that emphasizes its age of over 110 years.
Specifications
Origin: France.
Period: c. 1900–1915.
Material: Yellow copper / Brass.
Dimensions: Compact model, specifically for mounting on a motorcycle handlebar or fork.
Condition: In nice unrestored condition. The housing is solid without major dents. The water adjustment screw on top is present.
Note: The glass at the front is unfortunately broken (see photos). For the collector, however, this provides an excellent basis for restoration or as a distinctive decorative piece.
