Three-seat Coronado sofa in black leather designed by Tobia Scarpa for B&B Italia, an icon of Italian design dating to 1970–1980, measuring 210 cm wide, 86 cm deep and 86 cm high with a seating height around 44 cm, in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Splendid Coronado sofa designed by Tobia Scarpa (in collaboration with Afra Scarpa) for B&B Italia, an icon of Italian design from the 1960s still in production and beloved today. This is the three-seat version in original black leather of the highest quality, measuring 210 cm in length × 86 cm in depth (dimensions very close to the classic three-seat model which is usually around 211×93–98 cm, with balanced and generous proportions). Height about 78 cm, seat height around 40–44 cm for exceptional comfort. The sofa is in impeccable condition, practically like new despite the model’s age. The black leather is incredibly soft, evenly colored, with no visible scratches, cracks, haloing, or signs of significant wear. It maintains a glossy, deep appearance typical of full-grain high-end leathers used by B&B Italia, with that elegant patina that only time can bestow without harming the material. The internal black lining (the fabric covering under the leather, including the backrest and hidden parts) is in perfect condition: clean, with no tears, stains, or discoloration, a testament to constant care and respectful use. The frame retains its legendary engineering: a steel profile and tubular frame with the famous spring system of harmonic steel strips inserted into the backrest, guaranteeing that unique sense of enveloping comfort and elastic support typical of Coronado – the sofa that for many represents the very essence of timeless relaxation. Clean lines, balanced volumes, arms and backrest slightly inclined backward: a design that anticipated by decades the trends of contemporary minimalism, yet remains incredibly warm and welcoming. Perfect in both modern settings and more classic or mid-century environments. A collectible item, a safe investment in Italian design history, ready to become the undisputed star of your living room. This is not an ordinary sofa: it’s a three-seat Coronado in black leather, in extraordinary conservational condition, with a beautiful and intact internal lining. For true enthusiasts and for those seeking the best of made in Italy signed B&B Italia / Tobia Scarpa. Contact me for additional photos, details, or to arrange an in-person viewing.
