Portugal, 1947 5 Escudos coin, graded MS64 by NGC.
Description from the seller
Portugal. Lisbon. 5 Escudos. 1947.
- Value: 5 Escudos.
Year: 1947.
Inscriptions: Portuguese Republic with a sailing ship and the date at the bottom; on the reverse, the Portuguese national shield over an armillary sphere and the value 5$00.
- Rating: MS64 (NGC).
Circulating coin of the Portuguese Republic issued in the postwar period, within the Estado Novo era. The obverse features an elegant sailing caravel with sails spread, crossing the sea, a clear allusion to Portugal's maritime and exploratory tradition, with a dynamic and well-balanced design. The reverse shows the national shield on the armillary sphere, a historic symbol of the country, with sharp relief and correct proportion of the heraldic elements. The specimen stands out for its excellent condition, with very attractive original luster, uniform silvery tone and notably clean fields, characteristics that fully justify its high MS64 grade and make it an especially representative and sought-after piece within 20th-century Portuguese numismatics.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make it absolutely clear that I ship from Spain. This means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (for example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs, and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and is completely out of our control. Thank you for your understanding.
