For sale: two key issues from the original Marvel Star Wars series published in 1978. Both issues are extremely rare Mark Jewelers editions, intended exclusively for distribution at United States military bases.
Star Wars #9: First appearance of the "Cloud Riders" (The Sky Knights). Story "Showdown on Aduba-3". Art by Howard Chaykin.
Star Wars #10: Story "Behemoth from Below". A pivotal issue that closes one of the early story arcs of the Expanded Universe.
The Insert Mark Jewelers:
These issues feature at their center the iconic four-page glossy advertisement insert for Mark Jewelers. It is estimated that these variants represent only 2-5% of the total print run, making them highly sought-after investment pieces compared to the regular newsstand editions.
