Description from the seller

No reservations
Rare four-light chandelier, entirely handmade by a master glassmaker from Murano, a true classic of Murano glass from the mid-1900s.

All the pieces are similar but not identical, due to the entirely handcrafted process.
It has a lovely luminosity in the different lighting conditions—see all the photos. It lit up the entrance to an apartment in Venice, now under restoration. The previous owner recalls that they were purchased at Fornace a Murano, but given the era the purchase documents were not kept.

Transparent glass, with custom finishes (see the curling of the leaves)
Complete and in good condition.
Dating: ca. 1950/1960.

It has 4 arms with cups facing upward, and at each arm hangs a small garland. 4 leaves are low among them; 4 leaves are high at the center.

Width: 55 cm Height: 70 cm, approx. Equipped with a beautiful wrought-iron hook typical of Venetian chandeliers of the era. And with the hook the height becomes 80 cm, approx)
A classic Murano chandelier, bright and particularly suitable for traditional décor, but also modern due to its beautiful and elegant transparent glass.
Electrical system is functioning. Sockets for E14 light bulbs. Note the beautiful period lamp holders in brass and ceramic.

It will be shipped disassembled, with assembly instructions for safer transport.

Shipping only to continental EU countries, excluding the islands.

Seller's Story

I mainly collect Murano chandeliers thanks to the collaboration with some companies that restore apartments and palaces in Venice. In this way, over time, I have recovered the chandeliers of elegant and often ancient houses in the lagoon and in the nearby areas. Murano glass has an incomparable charm: every piece, even the simplest, has a story hidden in its fragility and its iridescent light.
