Description from the seller
Rare beddeenpan from the period 1750-1800.
Decorated on the top side with a sun motif surrounded by flowers.
The steel of wood is hand-nailed to the pan with a band of wrought iron.
A beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
The wood has moth holes, the moth is no longer active, so it has been treated for safety, making it 100 percent safe.
The bread box has some cracks after more than 250 years; see photos.
You will not encounter such an execution again soon.
Also usable as a pan for cooking eggs over the fire. A nice idea for Easter.
bedpan
In winter bedpans were used to pre-warm the bed. Such a pan consisted of a flat, round iron or copper basin with a hinged lid and a few ventilation holes. It had a long metal or wooden handle and could be filled with hot stones, a shallow layer of boiling water, or glowing coals— which could not be slid between the sheets without risk.
This lot has been carefully cleaned and will be carefully packed, shipped via registered mail with insurance, and includes a Track & Trace code so you can follow the shipment. Pickup in Ridderkerk - Zuid Holland is also possible. I have delicious hand-ground coffee.
