Description from the seller
Cast-iron little dog, "Nipper"
Noted; Rogers Foundry, Birmingham
The dimensions of the figurine are approx. Height 12 cm, width 8.5 cm and length 22.5 cm.
The figurine weighs 1.6 kg.
His Master’s Voice is famous for its distinctive logo: Nipper the white dog, with his ears up to a loudspeaker of an old-fashioned gramophone. According to legend, he was listening to his owner’s voice at that moment - "His master's voice".
The logo was designed at the end of the 19th century by the British artist Francis Barraud. It was purchased in 1899 by The Grammophone Company in Great Britain, the predecessor of the current EMI, but the logo was only used on the record labels of the company ten years later.
The logo of the dog and the gramophone became so popular that The Grammophone Company’s records were soon released under the name His Master’s Voice, although this was not the company’s official name.
This is the new type of figurine.
