Six Meiji period Arita egg-shell porcelain lidded cups with matching saucers, decorated in vibrant polychrome enamels depicting two samurai warriors, each cup 9.0 cm high and 9.1 cm in diameter with lids 7.6 cm and saucers 13.0 cm, bearing the Hichozan Shinpo-sei mark and overall in excellent condition with one cup having a very small chip on the footrim.

Description
A superb set of four identical Japanese eggshell porcelain lidded cups with matching saucers, from the Meiji period (1868–1912). Each piece is extremely thinly potted and finely decorated in vibrant polychrome enamels, depicting two samurai warriors in exquisite detail.
The set carries the Hichozan Shinpo-sei mark on all components – cups, lids, and saucers – a well-known Arita ware workshop of the Meiji era. Eggshell porcelain of this quality is highly collectible for both its delicacy and the precision of the painting.

Condition
Overall in sublime condition. One cup has a very small chip on the footrim; all other pieces are in perfect condition. No hairlines, restorations, additional chips, or fritting.
