For sale: Revox A77 MK4 tape recorder
The Revox A77 is the “Rolex among tape recorders” – Swiss precision, studio quality, and a legendary build that to this day serves as a reference.
The MK4 version is the latest and most refined iteration of this iconic model. Four-track version.
This tape recorder was purchased about 2–3 years ago and has since undergone a thorough overhaul and full alignment, performed by an experienced specialist. All parts that needed replacement have been renewed, and the device has been calibrated according to the original factory documentation.
Just before this auction, the device received an additional service:
The old bearings started to hum slightly, so high-quality NSK Japan bearings of ABEC-7 grade have been installed. This guarantees quiet and stable operation.
There are new counter strings installed.
Technically, the Revox is in very good condition because it underwent a thorough refurbishment (revision) two years ago:
Recording and playback work without any issues.
Stable operation at both speeds
The mechanism runs smoothly and evenly.
The sound is excellent: clear, dynamic, and very precise, with the typical, neutral, and professional Revox character.
Since the refurbishment, the tape recorder has been used only sporadically, exclusively as a hobby. I am selling it due to a reorganization of my collection.
Visually, the device looks quite nice for its age, although it is not an ideal museum piece. There are only light signs of wear that are typical for a device over 40 years old.

The aluminum spools and NAB adapters shown in the photos are not included in the sale.
The sale concerns only the tape recorder itself.
The device is carefully packaged, but shipping is entirely at the buyer's risk (heavy device).
