Description from the seller
Guzzini “Dolly” Kitchen Scale by Ennio Pasini – Sculptural Italian Postmodern Design, 2 kg Capacity
Manufacturer: Guzzini, Recanati, Italy
Designer: Ennio Pasini – STG Studio
Production period: 1980s
Domestic mechanical kitchen scale with integrated bowl, model “Dolly.” The conical base in mint-green thermoplastic is paired with a transparent flared bowl and spherical top detail, forming a cohesive sculptural silhouette. Calibrated up to 2 kg with clear analog dial in grams and kilograms. Marked on underside: Guzzini – Recanati Italy – household use.
The design reflects the Italian postmodern approach of the 1980s, where functional kitchen tools were developed with strong geometric identity and color emphasis. The conical volume and integrated bowl construction are characteristic of Guzzini’s experimentation with molded plastics during this period.
Condition: New old stock. Unused example with original box, internal protective packaging, and printed instruction leaflet. No visible scratches or structural damage. Dial and mechanism intact. Box shows minor shelf wear consistent with storage.
Value justification: Complete set with original packaging and documentation significantly enhances collectability. Designed by a named Italian designer for a recognized manufacturer, representing a documented 1980s design model. Preservation of original components and unused condition support long-term value retention.
